Little Bellas COVID-19 Response

Little Bellas’ goal is to manage our programs with actions based on fact and science, and to avoid panic and hysteria related to news about COVID-19. Fundamental to this goal are our guiding principles, which are:

  • -To keep all participants and mentors safe
  • -To do our part to slow community spread of the virus
  • -To deliver a Little Bellas experience that lives up to its highest standards

Our commitment to you is to create a safe, supportive environment for all of our participants and mentors.  We will be enacting the following three step plan based on recommendations from the local and national health department.

Stage 1

Level of Local Threat: Local health department has no recommendations to cancel or shut down small community-based programs, schools, and/or parks and recreation programming.

Action:

  • Run program as normally scheduled
  • Advise mentors and participants not to come to the program if sick
  • Start program and snack time with hand sanitizer, preferably hand washing (using 20 sec CDC recommended protocol with paper towel hand drying)

Stage 2

Level of Local Threat: Local health department recommendation to remain open or reopen small community-based programs, schools, and/or parks and recreation programming, and recommends exercising caution or to implement social distancing.

Action:

  • Run programs
  • Start program and snack time with hand sanitizer, preferably hand washing (using 20 sec CDC recommended protocol with paper towel hand drying)
  • No public water available at the program.  Each girl needs to bring her own water.
  • No spotting – avoid riding areas where girls need spotting such as obstacle features or pump tracks with inexperienced riders.
  • Avoid the following games to reduce contact between participants and keep girls out of each other’s general proximity:
    • Human Knot
    • Ninja
    • Chicken Tender
    • Evolution
    • Water Bottle Name Game Toss
    • Mafia
    • Frog Detective
    • Color Day

Stage 3

Level of Local Threat:  Local health department recommendation to cancel or shut down small community-based programs, schools, and/or parks and recreation programming.

Action:

  • Postpone the program
  • Enact Stage 2 when the health department deems fit
