Program Description
Our Woodstock Weekly Program is the perfect opportunity to get girls out on the trails and pedaling into the woods of Georgia.
The Woodstock Weekly Program meets for eight sessions at Blankets Creek Park and is open to girls of all abilities. Based around having fun, the program creates an environment to allow each girl to make new friends, ride trails, and play games, all while learning skills for the sport of mountain biking. Whether it's riding the small bridges and occasional roots of the Mosquito Trail series or venturing to the log crossings and berms of the Dwelling Loop, Blankets Creek offers the program the perfect venue fun and adventure.
Girls and Mentors (we don't coach, we mentor) ride once a week and participate in games and activities to help them build confidence and mountain bike skills in a progression. The girls will be given healthy challenges in a friendly, fun environment, both on and off the bike. This curriculum is designed to promote camaraderie among the girls, skill learning, and to perpetuate the love of mountain biking, all while having a great time! This program is for riding and fun and is not focused on competition.
Financial assistance is available if needed and we also have equipment available through our Gear Up program! Please communicate any of these needs when filling out the registration form for the program.
Woodstock, GA Program Lead
Susy Allen is leading the weekly program for the Woodstock, Georgia chapter. Susy is originally from Los Angeles, California where she surfed, biked, and skied. She currently lives in Marietta, where she loves to run and bike all the local trails. For the past four years, she’s been a coach for a local mountain bike team. In 2021, it was her honor to receive the Georgia Cycling Female Coach of the Year award. Susy is a mom of two amazing teen boys who ride and race competitively for Georgia Cycling Association. She’s a special education teacher and an advocate for children. Susy worked as a medical and educational interpreter helping bridge communication for Spanish speaking families. She’s grateful to her mom for teaching her Spanish and the experience to live in Guadalajara, Mexico where Susy played street soccer and taught English to preschoolers. Susy was a part of the Little Bellas program as a mentor in 2021 and has thought about the positive impact on girls, ever since. So, she’s bringing back the Woodstock, Georgia chapter and looks forward to having fun and laughing with all the new Little Bellas. “Never give up on something you can’t go a day without thinking about.” – Winston Churchill
