Program Description

Registration Process

We want program registration to be easy and fair, so we will run this program's registration with a random selection process. Everyone will have one week to pre-register their participant(s) for Little Bellas. Pre-registration does not guarantee a spot, and we do not collect payment during the pre-registration period. After pre-registration closes, one of two things will happen: a) if the program is full or over capacity, we will use a random selection process to determine who gets in; those who are not selected will be placed on a waitlist or b) everyone who pre-registered will be accepted into the program and we will transition to our usual first come first serve registration to fill the remaining slots.

Program Description

It's never too early to plan for Summer!  Flash-forward to when school is out, the weather is getting warmer, and it's time to get out and ride!  The Little Bellas Woodbury Program is the perfect way for the kids to burn off all the, all-day classroom, energy in a fun, confidence building way!

The Woodbury Mountain Bike Program meets for eight select Sundays, late spring into summer at Carver Lake Park. The program welcomes girls of all and any abilities to have fun, ride bikes, play games, and learn skills for mountain biking.  It's main focus is to have fun!  The goal is to create a fun, positive environment for the girls to build confidence and learn new skills.  Whether it riding the berms and awesome bridges of the Carver Lake Park trails or trying to find the last open space during musical bikes, the trail riding and games both on and off the bike, allow the girls to practice proper riding technique, eat snacks, and make new friends.

Girls and Mentors (we don't coach, we mentor) ride once a week and work on a mountain bike skills progression through different activities, rides, and adventures. The goal is to get girls outside, out on trails, and out with other girls to reinforce common bonds and build confidence, all while progressively building mountain bike skills.  The girls will be given healthy challenges in a friendly, fun environment. This program is for riding and promoting a love for mountain biking and is not focused on competition.

Financial assistance is available if needed and we also have equipment available through our Gear Up program!  Please communicate any of these needs when filling out the registration form for the program.

Is your participant ages 12 or 13? If so, they are eligible to join our Twin Cities Ride Program geared specifically for older girls.

Woodbury, MN Program Lead

The Woodbury program is led by Kelli Simpson. Kelli has been mentoring with the Woodbury program since day 1! Would you believe that Kelli fell headfirst into the Minneapolis bike scene in 2015 and has never looked back? Oh yeah! It's true. "The community and friends I have developed through experiences have been immeasurable and priceless, she said." Kelli dabbled in Cyclocross for about 3 seasons and realized I love the dirt and hate the pain...so Mountain Bikes it is! In her past life, Kelli was an elementary teacher - now she studies Instructional Design at a law school. How cool is that?! Kelli loves to mountain bike, rock climb, practice yoga, strength train, dog park hikes, build legos, puzzles, and her TWO dogs (Darby and Scout).
