Program Description

Milford has become one of the great trail towns of Michigan's lower Peninsula in recent years! There's no better outside activity than riding a bike and no better place to ride it than in the Little Bellas Milford Weekly Program!

The Milford Weekly Program offers recurring weekly sessions at Milford Trail in Milford Village, Settlers Park & Novi Tree Farm throughout the season.  This program creates a fun, positive environment where each girl can make new friends, learn new skills, and build confidence.  We focus on having fun, using games and activities to teach and develop basic to more advanced mountain bike skills.  Whether it's riding to find clues in a scavenger hunt, navigating a bike skills obstacle course, or honing trail skills on downtown Milford's singletrack , the girls build confidence in their riding skills and in themselves!

Once a week, the girls and Mentors (we don't coach, we mentor) will engage in different activities, rides, and games as a way to progress through a basic to advanced mountain biking skill set.  The girls are given healthy challenges in a friendly, fun environment as a way to build confidence and enhance skill learning.  This curriculum is designed to promote camaraderie among the girls, progressive skill learning, and to perpetuate the love of mountain biking, all while having a great time! This program is for riding and fun and is not focused on competition.

Financial assistance is available if needed and we also have equipment available through our Gear Up program!  Please communicate any of these needs when filling out the registration form for the program.

Milford, MI Program Lead

Sarah Vano grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and is still a die hard Cleveland baseball fan and lover of pierogies! Sarah moved to Michigan after earning her mechanical engineer degree and has worked in the auto industry for 14+ years. When Sarah isn’t honing her engineer skills you can find her on land or in water as she has been a triathlete for about a decade. In 2019 Sarah did her first Half Ironman! She loves any format of swim-bike-run but really prefers to hit the trails or gravel. Since 2018 she’s been involved with MiSCA (Michigan Scholastic Cycling Association) and currently serves as the Race Operations manager. In case you get in a trivia contest with Sarah, she’s not only a BICP Level 1 Instructor but she also is a Mom to three cats and a dinosaur enthusiast. When she was a kid she wanted to be a paleontologist!
