Program Description

As August rolls around, the weather is still perfect and the riding is still awesome in Colorado! Kids have been been playing, having fun outside, and don't want it to end! The Little Bellas Tuesday Program is the perfect way to keep the fun going and keep them active and outside, even as school starts.

The Tuesday Program, meeting at Bear Creek Lake Park, offers 5 recurring sessions throughout the month of August, allowing each girl to make new friends, have fun, play games on and off their bikes, and learn the skills of mountain biking.  With Bear Creek Lake Park lending itself perfectly to this program, girls can experience an offering of winding single track by the creek or both short and long uphills ending in amazing views overlooking the park.  These attributes combine to give any and all ability of rider healthy, fun, and challenging ways to work on skills and build confidence.

Girls and mentors (we don't coach, we mentor) ride twice a week and during each session, play a variety games and ride a variety of trails, as a way to help them learn skills for mountain biking.  Each day and subsequent week progressively builds on the skills learned the previous day and week but in a fun and challenging way.  This program is for fun and the joy of riding and is not focused on competition.

Scholarships are available so please communicate any financial help needed by thoroughly answering the questions about her or her equipment needs when registering.

The Amy D Sessions, a collaboration between the Amy D Foundation and the Little Bellas, is dedicated to preserving Amy Dombroski's memory and sharing her love of cycling.  We aim to honor our long-time friend by inspiring the next generation to love the sport as Amy did.

Program Lead Contact Information

Dawn came into mountain biking in her twenties, in the same way many women "discover" mountain biking: she got together with a group of other like minded ladies who were out to seek some adventure on some mountain trails. She was hooked. And in Colorado? Outdoor adventures a-plenty! A native of Colorado, Dawn has and does jump into as many things outdoors as possible, paddleboarding, hiking, yoga on rocks, camping, fishing, skiing, and pickleball, which I assume, doesn't actually require a pickle. All this while being a mother to 5 daughters and 2 sons, in a combined family, and a grandmother (I don't believe it) to 5 grandsons and 2 granddaughters and being a Little Bellas mentor for two years and now Program Lead! Get this woman a cape.
