Is there anything more magical than the desert in bloom? Crisp temps and a cool breeze make it pristine for riding bikes. Little Bellas Grand Junction Weekly Program is the perfect after school activity for girls looking to get outside and have some fun!
The Grand Junction Weekly Mountain Bike Program offers five recurring sessions at the Water Tower Trails which are full of single track, flow and rocky trails! We'll meet at Wingate Elementary School, pedal over to ride the Water Tower Trails and then mix in some games during each session. Whatever the level or ability of rider, the program is based around having fun and creates an environment to allow each girl to make new friends, ride trails, and play games, all while learning skills for the sport of mountain biking.
Girls and mentors (we mentor, we don't coach) ride once a week and work on a mountain bike skills progression through different activities, rides, and adventures. These girls will be given healthy challenges in a friendly, fun environment. This program is for riding and promoting a love for mountain biking and is not focused on competition.
Financial assistance is available if needed and we also have equipment available through our Gear Up program! Please communicate any of these needs when filling out the registration form for the program.
Grand Junction, CO Program Lead
Shannon spent her childhood chasing two older brothers from sport to sport which inspired a lifelong love of PLAY and inspired her to pursue a 15+ year career as a PE & health educator. Her favorite teaching day of the year was of course the annual school-wide bike rodeo (500+ students). Shannon is also a champion for females in sport and believes in the magical power of female role models. She started Girls on the Run in Western Colorado, the Little Bellas Chapter in Park City, Utah and loves to coach womens mountain biking. As a member of the Little Bellas family, she is thrilled to pay it forward to future female generations and empower more girls to ride bikes. When she isn’t riding bicycles, she’s planning her next bike adventure, baking chocolate chip cookies or in search of the next best taco truck.
