Program Description

Little Bellas is excited to continue our collaboration with Hosmer Point (a non-profit overnight camp in Craftsbury, VT) and Susan Dunklee, the Craftsbury Outdoor Center running program coach; to combine the best of mountain biking and running programming, tailored to young women and summer camp fun.

Girls ages 11 - 14 will choose to enroll in a focus area of either Little Bellas mountain biking or Hosmer Point running coached by Olympian Susan Dunklee, for a Memorial Day weekend full of active fun and friends. Expect twice-daily rides or runs, plus favorite camp activities like archery, tie-dye, swimming, canoeing, and zany team competitions! Ride and Run Campers will share living space in HP’s lakeside cabins and enjoy fresh, yummy meals in the dining hall. During focus area blocks, Little Bellas’ mentors will provide the all-girls mountain bike fun, using our Little Bellas on bike activities and games to help empower girls, emphasize the importance of goal setting, promote healthy life styles, and recognize the positive effects of strong female bonds. During elective activities and cabin time we'll bring both groups of campers together for continued camaraderie, learning, and team-building fun long after riding and running time has ended!

A focus on goal setting and team building will send girls into the summer with a boost of confidence and enthusiasm for staying active. This camp is designed for runners of any ability or bikers with more advanced skills, as they ride the challenging trails at both Hosmer Point and at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center. Riders must be familiar with single track, riding larger obstacles, and navigating drops a foot down or more.
