Program Description
The Old West. Cody, Wyoming. They kind of go hand in hand. Miles of amazing open country and trails. And while the traditional mode of transportation to explore this wilderness was horses, "horses" of the two wheeled variety have become an even more fun way to explore! The mountain biking community is constantly growing and what better way to help this growth than getting kids on bikes. And the Little Bellas Cody Weekly Program is the perfect way to do this!
Meeting at Lions Park, just adjacent to the Beck Lake Bike Park Trails, the Cody Weekly program is open to girls of all abilities. The program offers eight recurring mountain biking sessions throughout the summer and focuses on allowing each girl to learn new skills and build confidence, all in a positive, fun environment. Using both trail riding and specific games both on and off the bike, the girls practice proper riding technique, eat snacks, and make new friends. Amazing views, a pump track, coupled with the sweet, flowing or mixed terrain trails at Cody Lions Park assures each girl will find terrain just right and challenging enough for her.
Girls and mentors (we mentor, we don't coach) ride once a week and work on a mountain bike skills progression through different activities, rides, and adventures. These girls will be given healthy challenges in a friendly, fun environment. This program is for riding and promoting a love for mountain biking and is not focused on competition.
Financial assistance is available if needed and we also have equipment available through our Gear Up program! Please communicate any of these needs when filling out the registration form for the program.
Cody Program Lead
Nyla grew up in Cody and is so happy to be back in her home town. A little thing called, Getting Her Masters in Fine Arts, drew her away from Wyoming for a brief time but she is back and loving it. She spends her summers ripping with the Cody Biker Chix, a group who has been riding together for 23 years, and she helps with a local youth cycling group to get and keep young riders riding. Nyla’s also a board member for Park County Pedalers, a local bike advocacy group, and in her free time, she goes “horn hunting” with her dad and sister (um, amazing), while exploring all Wyoming has to offer. So give a wave if you see her riding around Cody on the Purple People Eater (mountain bike) or Black Beauty (gravel bike). She named her bikes, come on. Little Bellas is happy to have you.
