Program Description
Registration Process
We want program registration to be easy and fair. We are transitioning all programs to a three week pre-registration period. With this new system, everyone will have three weeks to pre-register their participant(s) for Little Bellas. After pre-registration closes, one of two things will happen: a) if the program is full or over capacity, we will use a random selection process to determine who gets in; or b) we will transition to our usual first come first serve registration to fill the remaining slots.
We hope this new process will ease some stress and help create a more fair registration system for all Little Bellas girls and families. See more information on our blog here.

Program Description
They say Birkie provides year-round, healthy, active lifestyle events for thousands of adventurous spirits of all ages and abilities, so it just felt right that Little Bellas came to town! And here we are!
The Chequamegon Area Mountain Bike Program meets for eight select Sundays, mid spring into summer at the Cable Town Trails and Mt Ashwabay Trails in Bayfield. The program welcomes girls of all and any abilities to have fun, ride bikes, play games, and learn skills for mountain biking. It's main focus is to have fun! The goal is to create a fun, positive environment for the girls to build confidence and learn new skills. The program starts at the Cable Town Trails, great beginner trails for anyone wanting to give mountain biking a whirl! The trails lie within a mix of beautiful pines and hardwoods and pass through a meadow filled with milkweed and monarch butterflies in the summer. Who wants to chase some butterflies while biking? Then a shift to the Mt Ashwabay trails with more twisty flowing trails through the trees and up the hills for a great view of Lake Superior.
Girls and Mentors (we don't coach, we mentor) ride once a week and work on a mountain bike skills progression through different activities, rides, and adventures. The goal is to get girls outside, out on trails, and out with other girls to reinforce common bonds and build confidence, all while progressively building mountain bike skills. The girls will be given healthy challenges in a friendly, fun environment. This program is for riding and promoting a love for mountain biking and is not focused on competition.
Financial assistance is available if needed and we also have equipment available through our Gear Up program! Please communicate any of these needs when filling out the registration form for the program.
Chequamegon Program Lead
Born and raised in Central Wisconsin and now living on the shores of Lake Superior in the northwest part of the state, there’s no doubt Amanda is homegrown! An Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner by day, she’s also an incredible community advocate. Kudos to Amanda for assisting in the development, building and maintenance of a trail system at Hartman Creek State Park in central Wisconsin. You might spot Amanda lined up at an endurance mountain bike race or wave hello to her in the winter while out fat biking along snowy trails. Amanda sightings have also occurred when there’s a quality cup of Jo paired with a delicious sugar cookie involved! She enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband Darrin, their dog Sherpa, and in case you didn’t guess, she doesn't mind getting muddy! Sounds like a perfect fit for a Little Bellas Lead, right?! We sure think so.
