Program Description
The Berkshires Half Day Mountain Bike Camp for girls is the perfect opportunity to squeeze in some outdoor fun before school is back in session. This half day camp gets young girls of all abilities on their bikes and out on some of the best mountain bike trails in Massachusetts. With miles of trails, the girls will have plenty of space to roam and explore along with our skilled mentor staff.
Based around having fun, we play lots of games (both on and off the bike), explore and ride trails, incorporate basic bike skills and then adjust those skills as the girls progress. So whatever level rider, this camp is the perfect fit, and did we mention fun!!! Little Bellas camps are renown for their abundance of smiles, giggles, and positivity.
Still not sure? Well, we also use the mountain bike experience to help the girls gain confidence, build camaraderie other girls on bikes, seek out new adventures, and get outdoors! So by the time your daughter heads back to school, she will not only be a fantastic rider, she will have a new sense of confidence, and who couldn't use that?
Financial assistance is available if needed and we also have equipment available through our Gear Up program! Please communicate any of these needs when filling out the registration form for the program.
Inclement Weather Protocol: In the event of lightning and thunderstorms, we will not cancel program days. Instead, programs will move inside to a pre-determined lightning safe structure and will continue camp activities indoors.
Berkshires, MA Program Lead
Alison loves photography, cooking and most anything outdoors. Biking tops the list, but hike, camp, run, kayak or rock climb anyone? While she has a background in journalism, Alison has worked with the YMCA, Big Brothers Big Sisters, local community center camps (Berkshire South) and a Boston-based mentoring program (Siblings). Nowadays you can find her making positive impacts on K-6 students as a Special Education teacher and public school committee member. Alison enjoys riding flowy trails out in the woods which might be why her favorite color is light green. She also leads a local mountain bike advocacy group (Berkshire NEMBA) that hosts events, rides, trail building projects to more fully support the sport she loves. You’ll likely find a stash of cashews or almonds in Alison’s bike pack and find her fueling post-ride with nachos, pasta or a burger, a few of her favorites. She has lived in 4 states (northern Virginia, South Carolina, upstate New York and both sides of Massachusetts). Alison has been playing sports (soccer, basketball, cross country, track) as long as she can remember and was often the only or one of the few girls playing sports when she was child. Alison enjoys working with kids and getting outdoors into our National Parks and forests. Becoming a Little Bellas Program Lead naturally fused these interests and also created an opportunity for her to lead a very talented mentor group!
