August offers up some great riding in the South! Trails are dry, weather is clear, and kids are back in school but what better way to keep kids out and on their bikes than the Little Bellas Athens Weekly Program!
The Athens Weekly Program meets eight Sundays at Trail Creek Park and welcomes girls of all abilities. Based around having fun, the program creates an environment to allow each girl to make new friends, ride trails, and play games, all while learning skills for the sport of mountain biking. Whether it's the dips and flow of the Green Loop or the berms, rollers, and rocks of Drive By Trucker (one of the best trail names ever), there is something for all abilities of rider.
Girls and Mentors (we don't coach, we mentor) ride once a week and participate in games and activities to help them build confidence and mountain bike skills in a progression. The girls will be given healthy challenges in a friendly, fun environment, both on and off the bike. This curriculum is designed to promote camaraderie among the girls, skill learning, and to perpetuate the love of mountain biking, all while having a great time! This program is for riding and fun and is not focused on competition.
Financial assistance is available if needed and we also have equipment available through our Gear Up program! Please communicate any of these needs when filling out the registration form for the program.

- Name:Jade Fernandez
- Email Address:
Jade started mountain biking in 2016 after doing an Atlanta earn-a-bike program and gaining inspiration from an avid rider. And it was all the inspiration she needed! She's now part of an all-women off-road cycling club devoted to getting more women on bikes. She loves to read. She has been an 8th grade reading teacher (loves to read, remember?) through Teach for America and a preschool teacher in Atlanta. Most importantly, Jade has a dog named Mitsi who's half pug, half beagle and 100% needs to be met by all of us here at Little Bellas National. Oh and Jade's also a professional film and TV actor so if she looks familiar, this might be why. And if this isn't enough, she's part of a group of people in her area that helps promote, and I quote, "spreading stoke and being the bright." Yes Jade, I think you'll fit into Little Bellas quite nicely.
