Program Description
Registration Information
We want program registration to be easy and fair, so we will run this program's registration with a random selection process. Everyone will have one week to pre-register their participant(s) for Little Bellas. Pre-registration does not guarantee a spot, and we do not collect payment during the pre-registration period. After pre-registration closes, one of two things will happen: a) if the program is full or over capacity, we will use a random selection process to determine who gets in; those who are not selected will be placed on a waitlist or b) everyone who pre-registered will be accepted into the program and we will transition to our usual first come first serve registration to fill the remaining slots.

Program Description
There is nothing like summer in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Kids are ready to get out, play, and explore all these pristine mountains have to offer. The perfect solution: The Little Bellas Asheville Weekly Program!
The Asheville Weekly Program offers recurring, all-girl mountain bike riding sessions, Tuesday nights at Bent Creek Community Park in the Pisgah National Forest. Open to riders of all abilities, the main focus of each session is having fun! The program creates a positive environment for girls to learn riding skills and gain confidence through the sport of mountain biking. Using both trail riding and specific games both on and off the bike, the girls practice proper riding technique, eat snacks, and make new friends, all on Asheville's go-to mountain bike trails.
Girls and mentors (we mentor, we don't coach) meet once a week, every Tuesday over the course of 8 weeks during the summer. The goal is to get girls outside, out on trails, and out with other girls to reinforce common bonds and build confidence, all while progressively building mountain bike skills throughout the summer. This program is for riding and fun and is not focused on competition.
Financial assistance is available if needed and we also have equipment available through our Gear Up program! Please communicate any of these needs when filling out the registration form for the program.
Asheville, NC Program Lead
Sarah grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, just shy of Canada. Yeah, she says things like ‘ope’, ‘eh’ and ‘you betcha.’ As a Great Lakes kid, she spent a lot of time outdoors - camping, fishing, riding her bike, etc. Sarah’s love for two wheels started on the back of her Dad’s motorcycle (before her feet could even reach the pegs). Don’t be fooled though, she wasn’t always a skilled cyclist (don’t tell her we told you this, but on her first trip around the block sans training wheels she hit two bushes and a parked car). Prior to her role at Little Bellas, Sarah taught Elementary/Middle school Special Education. Sarah holds a degree in both Elementary and Special Education with a minor in Language Arts; in addition, she also holds her bachelor's degree in Public Relations and Marketing, both from Northern Michigan University. Most days you can find her chasing around her tiny human, but when she gets the chance, you’ll find her running, hiking, or biking on the closest road or trail. Every now and then, you might even catch her playing dirtbikes. Oh, yeah, Sarah also has a husky who would surely be upset if he ever found out that he wasn’t mentioned here (let's not mention this to the cat either).
