National Girls and Women in Sports Day!

Little Bellas c0-founder, Sabra Davison, flying the Little Bellas flag in a slot canyon on a recent trip outwest

Today marks the annual National Girls and Women in Sports day.  It’s a good time to reflect back on how far women have come in athletics, appreciate the female pioneers that fought for the  opportunities that we have today, and set our sights on how far we have to go and how we are going to get there.  The Little Bellas is on a mission to empower females through cycling.  We want to give as many girls as possible the chance to see how many great places a bike can take them.  We are spreading the bike love and, hopefully as a result, getting more girls engaged. This is where this organization is going.

Our crew of mentors have been celebrating sport and adventuring all over the place.  Ali has been on a hunt for fresh snow and skiing it where ever and whenever she can.  Schreib recently climbed up Camel’s Hump over the ice and through the snow.  The gale force winds on the summit were no match for her.  Michelle (Douglas) has been arcing some turns at Smuggs while Mary even took advantage of Vermont’s ‘light’ winter to get out on her bike. Jojo has been slicing waves at home on Kauai, and Lea and Sabe have been hammering on the skinny skis.

Mentors Jojo, Schreib, and Lea recently got together on Kaui.  Here Jojo and Schreib enjoy camping on Polihale Beach

Future Mentor, Mary, and Sabe, get ready to race the White Mountain Classic 30K

Get out there and play!
